Three recent Arnold jobs, exactly as the customer saw them
Every clean gets a GoPro before-and-after sent the same day. Here's what that looks like on real Arnold properties — what we found, what we did, and what it cost. All our Google reviews are below.

Six-bed detached, Woodchurch Road NG5
Pigeons, years of neglect, six builders’ buckets of waste
- ●What we found
The worst gutters we cleared in Arnold last year. Pigeons had been roosting along the roofline for years, and their droppings had mixed with leaf fall into a deep compost that ran the full length of every gutter, with plants growing out of it along the run above the conservatory. Nothing had drained in a very long time.
- ●What we did
Full-property SkyVac clear from the ground — every run on a six-bedroom house, working carefully over the conservatory glass with the reach poles — then every outlet and downpipe flushed until it ran. Six builders’ buckets of waste bagged and taken away.
- ●Result
Every gutter open and draining. We flagged the moss on the tiles above — it will keep feeding the gutters — and the pigeon problem, so the family could decide what to do about both. GoPro before and after sent the same day.
“Very happy with the services of Gutter Cleaned! My parents’ gutters had been neglected and had a lot of overgrowth and other things thanks to pigeons! They are all cleared now, will definitely use Gutter Cleaned again in the future! Very happy customer! Thanks.”

Two-storey house, Gleneagles Drive NG5
Rear gutter holding water for months, weed growing at the outlet
- ●What we found
The rear gutter was a pond: standing water end to end, green algae along the whole run, and a weed the height of a hand growing out of the debris at the outlet. The silver birch over the back fence was dropping leaves and seed straight into it, and with the outlet blocked nothing had drained for a long time.
- ●What we did
SkyVac clear of the full run from the ground, weed and root ball out, outlet and downpipe flushed until they ran clear. We traced where the build-up was coming from — the birch overhanging the rear — and talked it through with the customer so she knows what to expect each autumn and when to book.
- ●Result
Gutter empty and draining. The green staining on the gutter wall in the after shot is algae marking, not debris — it fades over a few weeks of rain. GoPro before and after sent the same day.
“I had a gutter cleaning from Stephen 2 days ago and it was a fantastic service. It was a very reasonable price considering the sorry state of my gutters and I would absolutely recommend his service to others. He went above and beyond to help sort the root of my issue and find out what was causing the issue in my gutters.”

Two-storey house, Gerrard Close NG5
Backs onto woodland — the customer's “roof garden”
- ●What we found
A garden in the gutter, and not a small one. Gerrard Close backs onto mature oaks, and years of leaf fall had turned to compost deep enough for plants to root and grow up past the tiles. The roof itself was carrying a thick moss carpet that was washing more into the gutter every time it rained.
- ●What we did
Full SkyVac clear of both storeys from the ground — plants, roots and the compost under them out — then the outlets and downpipes flushed until they ran. Two storeys of gutter, no ladders on the walls.
- ●Result
Gutter open end to end and draining. With that much tree cover it will fill again, which is why Dean's already planning the next one — this is a twice-a-year house, and the Gutter Health Plan is built for exactly that.
“Stephen is the consummate professional but also the friendliest, most helpful man. A great job (two stories of gutters done) at a v fair price. Will book again once my roof garden appears again. A+++.”

Gutter Health Plan

See plan prices →Blocked Gutter Cleaning
The most common job we do in Arnold. On the Killisick, Dorket Head and Redhill estates it's moss off the concrete tiles; near Arnot Hill Park and Woodthorpe Grange it's oak and birch leaf fall. We clear it, flush every downpipe and restore full flow — with GoPro evidence of every run.

The valley gutter where a conservatory meets the house is a debris trap on the Redhill and Killisick estates. We clear it from the ground with SkyVac reach poles — no ladders on your glass.

Stephen Fudge
Owner & Operator · Former Local Authority Cleaning Inspector
When you book Gutter Cleaned for your Arnold clean, you deal with one person from start to finish — no call centre, no subcontractors. The person who quotes the job is the person who does the work and answers the phone afterwards.
I spent years as a Local Authority Cleaning Inspector, checking other people's work was done to standard, on top of 25+ years in professional cleaning. That trained eye is what I bring to every Arnold gutter I clean — and it's why every job comes with GoPro before-and-after footage, so you never have to take it on trust.
Cleaning your Arnold gutters, step by step
Every clean follows the same routine — entirely from the ground, no ladders against your walls, no one on your roof.
Fixed quote
Tell us your property type and Arnold postcode — we reply with a fixed price, no call-out fee.
GoPro before footage
We record every gutter run before we start, so you can see the condition and the debris level.
SkyVac clear
Vacuum poles draw out moss, silt and leaves from the ground — up to four storeys. On Arnold's estate houses that usually means moss off the concrete tiles; on the older streets, silt settled in cast-iron.
Downpipes flushed
We clear and confirm every downpipe is flowing before we finish.
Anything flagged
Cracked joints, sagging runs or loose brackets spotted on the way — photographed and pointed out. On the Front Street and Daybrook houses that's usually a failed cast-iron joint.
Footage & tidy
Debris taken away, nothing left on your drive, and your GoPro before & after sent over the same day — easiest by WhatsApp.
If we find damage
We report it, we don't repair it. If a joint has failed, a bracket has gone or a downpipe is cracked, you get a photo and a plain explanation the same day, and it goes in your report so you have it in writing. We don't do gutter repairs, so there's no reason for us to find problems that aren't there — you decide what to do next, and you can use the footage to get a repair quoted properly.
What we find on Arnold jobs
Park-side leaf load
The tree-lined avenues around Arnot Hill Park and the streets backing onto Woodthorpe Grange Park drop leaves and seed pods from September through to December. Half-round 1930s gutters hold a surprising amount of water once the outlet blocks — a gutter that was clear in August can be holding a pond by November, and overflowing at the corners in heavy rain is the usual call.
Moss from concrete tiles
North-facing concrete-tile roofs on the Killisick, Dorket Head and Redhill estates shed moss into the gutter, where it settles in the sag of ageing plastic runs and sets like mortar by spring.
Cast-iron joints on the older streets
Around Front Street and old Daybrook the Victorian houses are often still on cast-iron with lead-caulked joints. When a joint fails it looks like a blockage from the outside — a green streak down the render is the first sign. Cleaning shows which it is, and we tell you straight, with a photo, before you spend money on the wrong fix.
The property types we clean in Arnold
Arnold grew from a knitting village into a large suburb, so its gutters come in every era — and each one blocks differently.
Terraces and villas on the old streets
Around Front Street, Church Drive and the older part of Daybrook — mostly on original cast-iron or a mix of cast-iron and later plastic. Cast-iron sags between brackets, so silt collects in the low points. We vacuum from the ground rather than putting ladders against 120-year-old brickwork.
Inter-war semis
Arnot Hill Road, Kingswell Road, Gedling Road, St Albans Road and the roads off them. Hipped roofs, deep half-round gutters, and mature front-garden trees. The corner where the gutter turns to the side elevation is where the outlet blocks.
Post-war estates
Plastic guttering fitted decades ago and now past its best — brackets loosen, runs bow, and moss washes into the sag. We clear it, flush the downpipes, and tell you honestly if a run needs re-bracketing rather than cleaning. Conservatories are common here and their valley gutter is a classic blockage point.
Bungalows and modern infill
Redhill and the closes off Gleneagles Drive have a lot of bungalows, whose gutters get ignored because they look reachable. Newer infill houses have factory-fitted UPVC and tight roof valleys that trap debris out of sight.
From our office to your Arnold gutters
We're based in New Basford, so Arnold is one of our shortest runs. Here's the drive our van makes most weeks.
Arnold is a market town about four miles north-east of the city centre, in Gedling borough — in the Domesday Book as Ernehale, “the place frequented by eagles”, later a framework-knitting town, and now one of the biggest suburbs on the north side of Nottingham. For gutters that means three distinct housing bands, heavy tree cover around Arnot Hill Park and Woodthorpe Grange Park, and a town where most of the semis went up in the 1930s and most of the estates in the decades after the war.
We set off from Chelsea House on Chelsea Street in New Basford, NG7, and head up Nottingham Road to the Valley Road ring road. A right turn at the Mansfield Road lights and we're on the A60 heading north — the same road that carries most of Arnold's traffic in and out of the city.
Mansfield Road takes us up through Sherwood's shops and past the gates of Woodthorpe Grange Park on the right — the tree cover along here is the reason so many Woodthorpe and Daybrook gutters fill up in October. A little further on the road drops into Daybrook, and two landmarks tell us we've reached Arnold: the 150-foot spire of St Paul's Church, built in the 1890s and visible from half a mile back, and just past it the cream Art Deco frontage of the old Home Brewery building from 1936, now Nottinghamshire County Council offices, with its carved frieze of cherubs brewing beer above the entrance.
From Daybrook it's a straight run up to Front Street and the town centre — Arnold Market, the Bonington Theatre and the leisure centre — with Arnot Hill Park and Gedling Borough Council's civic centre tucked behind. Jobs on the Killisick and Dorket Head side take us out along Gedling Road; Redhill jobs carry on up Mansfield Road past the Arnold turn, towards Bestwood Country Park.
Door to door it's about three miles and 10–15 minutes, which is why an Arnold overflow can usually be dealt with the same week and why there are no travel charges anywhere in NG5.
Around the town centre
Front Street, High Street, Church Drive and the streets around Arnot Hill Park — the older housing and the heaviest tree cover.
The estates and the north
Killisick, Dorket Head, Redhill, and the closes off Gleneagles Drive and Woodchurch Road — post-war semis, bungalows and conservatories, all at the same fixed pricing.

Gutter cleaning in Arnold, answered
How much does gutter cleaning cost in Arnold?
Most Arnold semis are £120–£145. Terraces and bungalows start at £95, standard detached houses at £145 and large or three-storey houses at £160. All prices include VAT and are fixed before we start — conservatory, extension and garage gutters are quoted separately.
How long does a gutter clean take in Arnold?
About an hour for a typical 1930s semi, 45 minutes for a terrace or bungalow, and up to two hours for a large detached house with garage and extension gutters. That includes the GoPro before and after and flushing every downpipe.
Do you cover all of Arnold?
Yes — the whole of Arnold, Daybrook and Redhill, NG5 6 to NG5 8, from the Victorian streets around Front Street across the 1930s semis to the Killisick, Dorket Head and Redhill estates. If you're nearby in Woodthorpe, Mapperley, Gedling or Calverton, we cover those too.
Do you clean cast-iron gutters on the older houses in Daybrook and around Front Street?
Yes. We vacuum them from the ground rather than leaning ladders on old brickwork, and if a joint is leaking rather than blocked we tell you, with a photo, so you can decide what to do about it.
How do I find a reliable gutter cleaner in Arnold?
Ask how they reach the gutter, whether they send footage, and whether the price is fixed before they arrive. Arnold is where we did the worst gutter of the year, six builders’ buckets out of one house on Woodchurch Road, and the price was still the fixed price for the property type, because that is the point of fixing it. A gutter cleaner who quotes “from” and confirms on the doorstep will not do that. We work from the ground, film every run, and are in Arnold most weeks.
How often should Arnold gutters be cleaned?
Once a year for most houses, after leaf fall in November. Houses near Arnot Hill Park or Woodthorpe Grange Park, or with a north-facing mossy roof on the estates, are better twice a year — our Gutter Health Plan covers that at a fixed price.
Can you clean the gutter between my conservatory and house in Arnold?
Yes, and it's a common job on the Redhill and Killisick estates. The valley gutter between the conservatory roof and the house collects debris from both surfaces. We clear it from the ground with SkyVac reach poles — no one walks on your conservatory roof.
How soon can you clean gutters in Arnold?
Usually within the week. Send your postcode through the form or call 0800 086 2887 and we come back the same day with a fixed price and the slots we have. Arnold is a short run from us in New Basford, so an overflow that needs sorting quickly can often be fitted in sooner.
How do I pay for gutter cleaning in Arnold?
By card on the day — we carry a SumUp tap-and-go machine and you get a receipt straight away, the same as in a shop. The price is fixed before we start, so what you're quoted is what you pay.
Do I need to be home for the gutter clean?
Yes please — the SkyVac runs off mains power, so we need an outdoor socket or a plug just inside the door. Once we're set up you can carry on with your day, and we send the GoPro before-and-after footage over the same day, easiest by WhatsApp.
