Three recent Wollaton jobs, exactly as the customer saw them
Every clean gets a GoPro before-and-after sent the same day. Here’s what that looks like on real Wollaton houses — two neighbours on Russell Drive under the park’s beech trees, and a gutter over a conservatory that no ladder could reach — what we found, what we did, and what the customer said afterwards. All our Google reviews are below.

Clay-tiled house, Russell Drive NG8
Beech leaves to the brim, outlet blocked, water over the front edge
- ●What we found
Russell Drive runs alongside Wollaton Park and the beeches on the boundary drop everything into the gutters opposite. The front run was full to the top with dry leaves, the outlet was packed solid, and the water was going over the front edge every time it rained instead of down the pipe.
- ●What we did
SkyVac clear of every run from the ground, then the outlet dug out and each downpipe flushed until it ran. No ladders on the clay tiles, which are fragile and expensive to replace. We did the neighbour’s house the same morning — the job below.
- ●Result
Front gutter clear the full length and draining down the pipe again. The moss on the tiles is left as found. GoPro before and after sent the same day, and the customer’s problem sorted, in his words.
“Stephen cleared our gutters really well, and sorted our problem”

Rear gutter, Russell Drive NG8
Tree debris from one side, roof debris from the other
- ●What we found
Next door to the job above, done the same morning. The rear gutter had two things feeding it: beech leaves from the trees behind, and moss and algae washing off the flat roof of the extension beside it. Between them the run was full, and the joint at the outlet had leaves jammed into it.
- ●What we did
SkyVac clear of the rear run and the connections at the downpipe from the ground, working over the flat roof with the reach poles rather than standing on it. Every outlet and downpipe flushed until it ran clear. Debris bagged and taken away — nothing left on the flat roof or in the garden.
- ●Result
Gutter open and draining end to end. The moss on the flat roof and the tiles above is still there, and it will keep feeding the gutter, so this is a house that needs doing every autumn. GoPro before and after sent the same day.
“Arrived on time and carried out all that was required and more. All gutter and downpipe connections cleared of all debris from both tree and roof debris collecting in the gutter. A clean “no mess” clearance with a friendly operator.”

Gutter over a conservatory, Appledore Avenue NG8
Moss to the brim, and no way to get a ladder to it
- ●What we found
The rear gutter sits directly above the conservatory, which is why it hadn’t been cleaned: there is nowhere to put a ladder. Moss from the concrete tiles had filled the run from end to end, and clumps of it were already sliding onto the conservatory roof below.
- ●What we did
SkyVac clear of the full run from the ground, working over the conservatory glass with the reach poles and never touching it, then the outlet and downpipe flushed until they ran. The conservatory’s own gutter checked while we were there.
- ●Result
Gutter clear along its full length and draining, conservatory roof untouched. The moss on the tiles above stays — it’s a roof job, not a gutter one — so this one will fill again. GoPro before and after sent the same day, and a photo of the job for the customer’s records.
“Really good trusted service no fuss easily arranged and photos of the job is a good service. Well worth the money.”

Gutter cleaning services for Wollaton homes
From blocked gutters under the park’s oaks to conservatory valleys on the Vale — all done from the ground with SkyVac and GoPro footage on every job.
Gutter Health Plan
Two planned cleans a year, autumn and spring, with a reminder before each visit and GoPro footage after. Price fixed for 12 months, no contract. Built for the houses under Wollaton Park’s oaks and limes and the tree-lined avenues off Middleton Boulevard, which fill a gutter twice a year.
See plan prices →Blocked Gutter Cleaning
The most common job we do in Wollaton. Around the park and the old village it's oak, lime and horse-chestnut leaf fall; on the Vale and the Russell Drive side it's moss off the concrete tiles and grit off flat dormer roofs. We clear it, flush every downpipe and restore full flow — with GoPro evidence of every run.
Learn more →Conservatory Gutter Cleaning
Wollaton has more conservatories per street than almost anywhere we clean. The valley gutter where the conservatory meets the house is a debris trap that never reaches the main gutter. We clear it from the ground with SkyVac reach poles — no ladders on your glass.

Stephen Fudge
Owner & Operator · Former Local Authority Cleaning Inspector
When you book Gutter Cleaned for your Wollaton clean, you deal with one person from start to finish — no call centre, no subcontractors. The person who quotes the job is the person who does the work and answers the phone afterwards.
I spent years as a Local Authority Cleaning Inspector, checking other people's work was done to standard, on top of 25+ years in professional cleaning. That trained eye is what I bring to every Wollaton gutter I clean — and it's why every job comes with GoPro before-and-after footage, so you never have to take it on trust.
Cleaning your Wollaton gutters, step by step
Every clean follows the same routine — entirely from the ground, no ladders against your walls, no one on your roof.
Fixed quote
Tell us your property type and Wollaton postcode — we reply with a fixed price, no call-out fee.
GoPro before footage
We record every gutter run before we start, so you can see the condition and the debris level.
SkyVac clear
Vacuum poles draw out moss, silt and leaves from the ground — up to four storeys. Around the park that usually means oak and lime leaf packed at the outlet; on the Vale and the newer closes, moss off the concrete tiles.
Downpipes flushed
We clear and confirm every downpipe is flowing before we finish.
Anything flagged
Cracked joints, sagging runs or loose brackets spotted on the way — photographed and pointed out. On Wollaton's wide 1930s soffits that's usually a bracket that has pulled out of a rotten fascia, letting the run sag.
Footage & tidy
Debris taken away, nothing left on your drive, and your GoPro before & after sent over the same day — easiest by WhatsApp.
If we find damage
We report it, we don't repair it. If a joint has failed, a bracket has gone or a downpipe is cracked, you get a photo and a plain explanation the same day, and it goes in your report so you have it in writing. We don't do gutter repairs, so there's no reason for us to find problems that aren't there — you decide what to do next, and you can use the footage to get a repair quoted properly.
What we find on Wollaton jobs
Leaf fall from the park and the avenues
Wollaton Park's 500 acres of oaks, limes and horse chestnuts back straight onto the houses along Parkside, Middleton Boulevard and Wollaton Road, and the 1930s avenues were planted with their own limes. They drop leaves, seed and sticky honeydew from September through December. A gutter that was clear in August is holding a pond by November, and overflowing at the corner in heavy rain is the usual call.
Moss on the Vale and the dormers
The concrete-tiled roofs on Wollaton Vale and the 1960s closes off Russell Drive and Bramcote Lane shed moss into the gutter all year, and the flat and low-pitched dormer roofs on the bungalows hold water and grow more. It settles in the sag of plastic runs fitted decades ago and sets like mortar by spring.
Wide soffits and sagging runs
Wollaton's big 1930s semis and detached houses have deep eaves and wide soffits, and the gutter brackets are screwed into fascia boards that are now 90 years old. When a bracket pulls out the run sags, water sits in the dip, and the gutter fills from the middle instead of draining. Cleaning shows which it is, and we tell you straight, with a photo, before you spend money on the wrong fix.
The property types we clean in Wollaton
Wollaton was a village and a country estate until the 1930s, then one of the biggest inter-war building booms in Nottingham — so its gutters come in every era, and each one blocks differently.
Village cottages and Victorian houses
The conservation-area core around St Leonard’s and the old Square — stone cottages, the dovecote, and a handful of Victorian villas. Cast-iron gutters and awkward roof lines. We vacuum from the ground rather than putting ladders against old stone and brick.
Inter-war semis and detached
The Wollaton Park estate and the avenues off Middleton Boulevard went up in a rush in the 1930s — hipped roofs, deep half-round gutters, wide soffits and mature front-garden trees. The corner where the gutter turns to the side elevation is where the outlet blocks, and the garage or porch gutter is usually forgotten altogether.
Executive homes and dormer bungalows
Detached houses and dormer bungalows on generous plots, often with a conservatory added since. Plastic guttering fitted decades ago and now past its best — brackets loosen, runs bow, and moss washes into the sag. Dormer bungalows get ignored because the lower gutters look reachable; the upper ones never are.
Modern detached and infill
The newer closes off Trowell Road and Wollaton Vale have factory-fitted UPVC, tight roof valleys and gutters that trap debris out of sight. Builder grit and tile chippings block a new gutter faster than you would think.
From our office to your Wollaton gutters
We're based in New Basford, so Wollaton is a straight run round the ring road. Here's the drive our van makes most weeks.
Wollaton is a suburb about three miles west of the city centre, built around the deer park and the Elizabethan Wollaton Hall — finished in 1588 for Sir Francis Willoughby, built of the pale stone from Ancaster and Bulwell, home to the city’s Natural History Museum, and Wayne Manor in The Dark Knight Rises. The Willoughbys also built one of the world’s first railways here, a wooden wagonway from Strelley to Wollaton in 1604 to move their coal. The village stayed a village until the estate was sold in the 1920s; then the 1930s filled the fields between the park wall and Bramcote Lane with semis. For gutters that means mature trees everywhere, wide 1930s soffits, and a lot of conservatories on the Vale.
We set off from Chelsea House on Chelsea Street in New Basford, NG7, and pick up the A6514 ring road — Western Boulevard past the Crown Island, then Middleton Boulevard with the Wollaton Park wall and the deer on the right. The stone lodge and the gates on Wollaton Road tell us we’ve arrived.
From the park gates, Wollaton Road and Parkside run past the biggest houses under the park’s trees; Bramcote Lane takes us through the shops and the old village by St Leonard’s; Russell Drive and Wollaton Vale lead out through the 1960s houses and dormer bungalows towards Bramcote; and Trowell Road runs along the north side towards Bilborough and Trowell.
Door to door it’s about three and a half miles and 15 minutes, which is why a Wollaton overflow can usually be dealt with the same week and why there are no travel charges anywhere in NG8.
The park side and the village
Wollaton Road, Parkside, Middleton Boulevard, the avenues off it and the old village around St Leonard’s — the biggest houses, the oldest roofs and the heaviest tree cover.
The Vale, Russell Drive and Trowell Road
Wollaton Vale, Russell Drive, Bramcote Lane, Grangewood Road and the closes off Trowell Road — 1960s detached houses, dormer bungalows and conservatories, all at the same fixed pricing.
Wollaton streets and postcodes we cover (NG8 1, NG8 2)
We clean gutters across the whole of Wollaton, the Wollaton Park estate, Wollaton Vale and the old village. These are the roads and areas we work in — if yours isn't listed, we still cover it.
Plus the whole of NG8 1 and NG8 2. No travel charges anywhere in Wollaton.
Gutter cleaning in Wollaton, answered
How much does gutter cleaning cost in Wollaton?
Most Wollaton semis are £120–£145. Terraces and bungalows start at £95, standard detached houses at £145 and large or three-storey houses at £160. All prices include VAT and are fixed before we start — conservatory, extension and garage gutters are quoted separately.
How long does a gutter clean take in Wollaton?
About an hour for a typical 1930s semi, 45 minutes for a bungalow, and up to two hours for a large detached house with garage, conservatory and extension gutters. That includes the GoPro before and after and flushing every downpipe.
Do you cover all of Wollaton?
Yes — the whole of Wollaton, the Wollaton Park estate, Wollaton Vale and the old village, NG8 1 and NG8 2, from the houses along the park wall out to the Bramcote and Trowell borders. If you're nearby in Bramcote, Beeston, Bilborough, Lenton or The Park, we cover those too.
Can you clean the upper gutters on a dormer bungalow in Wollaton?
Yes. The SkyVac reaches the upper gutter and the flat dormer roof from the ground with carbon-fibre poles, and the GoPro camera on the end shows us — and you — what is up there. Nobody climbs onto the lower roof to reach the top run.
How do I find a reliable gutter cleaner in Wollaton?
Ask how they reach the gutter, whether they send footage, and whether the price is fixed before they arrive. Wollaton has a lot of dormer bungalows and conservatories, and both are where a gutter cleaner on a ladder does damage: boots on a flat dormer roof, a ladder foot on the conservatory glass. We work from the ground, film every run, fix the price from your property type, and are on Wollaton streets most weeks.
Can you clean the gutter between my conservatory and house in Wollaton?
Yes, and it is one of the most common extras we do in Wollaton. The valley gutter between the conservatory roof and the house collects debris from both surfaces and never reaches the main gutter. We clear it from the ground with SkyVac reach poles — no one walks on your conservatory roof. Conservatory gutters are quoted with the job.
How often should Wollaton gutters be cleaned?
Once a year for most houses, after leaf fall in November. Houses backing onto Wollaton Park, on the lime-lined avenues off Middleton Boulevard, or with a north-facing mossy roof on the Vale, are better twice a year — our Gutter Health Plan covers that at a fixed price.
How soon can you clean gutters in Wollaton?
Usually within the week. Send your postcode through the form or call 0800 086 2887 and we come back the same day with a fixed price and the slots we have. Wollaton is a short run round the ring road from us in New Basford, so an overflow that needs sorting quickly can often be fitted in sooner.
How do I pay for gutter cleaning in Wollaton?
By card on the day — we carry a SumUp tap-and-go machine and you get a receipt straight away, the same as in a shop. The price is fixed before we start, so what you're quoted is what you pay.
Do I need to be home for the gutter clean?
Yes please — the SkyVac runs off mains power, so we need an outdoor socket or a plug just inside the door. Once we're set up you can carry on with your day, and we send the GoPro before-and-after footage over the same day, easiest by WhatsApp.
